Topic and Event Structure

Welcome to the homepage of our symposium!

The topic of this years annual interdisciplinary students symposium of immunology will be “Stressed out: Exploring the immune connection in cells, lifestyle, and more ".

The Students Symposium will take place at the University of Bonn from Friday, June 21st to Sunday, June 23rd, 2024.

The event will consist of various workshops on Friday as well as a variety of scientific talks from professors, PIs, post-docs and students on Saturday. The talks will have a wide range of topics, from metabolic stress and how that can imprint your immune cells, to how a stress reaction of your immune system looks like to even connections of psychological Stress on you and your body. We aimed to also cover a wide range of disciplines to accurately portray the multitude of facets which are all interconnected and combined in the field of immunological research. Be our guest and further your horizon, we are sure that you will leave with new impressions and inspirations for your own scientific career 😊

The workshops will also allow you more in-depth hands-on insights into several practical aspects which might come in handy when you are planning and conducting your own experiments. A specific topic is covered more in depth by expert supervision with only small groups. You will need to register for these beforehand as the slots are limited.

While you immerse yourself in current research, we will take care of lunch, snacks and drinks as well as socializing events to finish off each day with some fun activities. You also have the option to take refuge in a Hostel in the heart of Bonn near the Rhine. Due to some other events (e.g. European Soccer championship) the spaces are very limited.
